Ameripak fabricates foam in all military grades that meet the following specifications for cushioning materials:

  • A-A-59135 - Packaging Sheet Material
  • A-A-59136 - Closed Cell Foam Plank, Cushioning Material
  • PPP-C-1752 - Polyethylene Foam, Cushioning Material (superseded by A-A-59135 and A-A-59136)
  • PPP-C-1797 - Polypropylene Foam, Cushioning Material
  • MIL-PRF-26514 - Polyurethane Foam, Rigid or Flexible
  • MIL-PRF-83671 - Foam-in-Place Packaging Materials

Foam materials can also be fabricated to protect ESD sensitive and EDS susceptible parts. ESD foam options include:

  • Conductive (Black) Foam - conductive foam allows electrical parts that have built up a charge to be directed away from the part. "Conductive" means that the foam will carry the charge and therefore direct/divert it away from the part
  • Static Dissipative (Pink/Black) Foam - Dissipative foam is designed to slow the flow or reduce the strength of electrical charge in the part. Dissipative foam is filled with carbon and identified by its black or pink color.
  • Anti-Static (Pink) Foam - this foam is designed to prevent the build-up of static electricity in the part. Anti-Stat foam is chemically doped with an anti-static agent (surfactant) and colored with pink dye for identification.
